A multi-dose vial is a vial of liquid medication intended for injection or infusion that contains more than one dose of medication

At International Medical Clinic (IMC) and International Paediatric Clinic (IPC),  patient health and safety is our priority, and thus we do not re-use multi-dose vials.

When presented with vials intended for multiple doses, our approach has always been to dedicate them to a single patient.  The remainder of the vial is then discarded and not re-used.

This is to prevent inadvertent contamination of the vial with potentially contaminated surfaces or equipment that could then lead to infections in subsequent patients.

Being well aware of the implications of possible cross contamination, IMC and IPC have taken this stance from the day we started operating.

If you have any questions our Doctors and Nurse’s will be happy to answer them for you.
