Referrals are not always necessary. When consulting with any of our doctors at IMC, they have the option to refer you to a suitable psychologist directly. Alternatively, if you have not consulted with one of our doctors, you can still directly engage with a psychologist. This involves completing a questionnaire that provides details about your child and their challenges, facilitating a smooth process for the psychologist to ascertain and plan for the appropriate appointment and assessment or therapy schedule.

You will need to complete the Initial Questionnaire before your first session, this will be emailed to you by our staff. Additionally, please note that the first session can be exclusively for parents if you wish to address your child’s concerns without their presence.

Certainly, we do offer ongoing therapy sessions via Telemedicine when deemed suitable. However, it’s important to note that face-to-face sessions are recommended for fostering a stronger connection with the psychologist.

First Psychology Consultation starts at $250 for 50-60 minutes.

The costs for Psychological Assessments vary, typically ranging from $1200 to $3500, depending upon the specific type of assessment required.

A standard therapy session typically lasts for 1 hour.

During the first Psychologist Consultation, our Clinical psychologist will engage in an in-depth discussion with you regarding your concerns. Based on this discussion the psychologist’s will assess the child’s needs and plans for a suitable assessment and therapy session. These options are discussed with you giving you the opportunity to consider whether the assessment is the right choice and feasible for you and your child’s schedule.

Certainly, the option of combining therapy with medication can be explored if advised by the psychologist and/ or your doctor. This subject can be thoroughly discussed during your sessions. Our clinical psychologist does not prescribe medication; however, our IMC doctors are able to prescribe medications. We can also dispense the medication ordered. It is recommended but not necessary that your child is under the care of an IMC doctor so that, collaboratively with our psychologist, they can monitor your child’s physical and mental well-being when on medication.

If you find yourself in a crisis between appointments, you can reach out to your psychologist via email or contact the clinic directly. IMC strive to respond promptly to all medical emergencies. In the event of an urgent situation, it is recommended to contact emergency services or seek immediate assistance from a medical professional.

You can delve into this topic during your sessions with a psychologist, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore and receive personalised recommendations for effective self-care practices.

Absolutely, if the need arises, the psychologist can suggest family sessions or even sibling sessions as part of the therapy session.
