What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine can play an important role in supporting patients and offering an extended level of care and convenience by offering a digital platform to manage and treat certain conditions. IMC Camden, Children's, Jelita and Katong can now consult via video call directly to your smart phone or computer.
In addition to providing an extended level of care, Telemedicine has been identified as a possible method to manage patients in the community especially during infectious disease outbreaks (such as COVID-19) to help prevent further spread of disease.
Unlike other providers, IMC safe-guard the types of consultations that can be seen via Telemedicine and our Doctors must be satisfied that the patients condition is suitable for a Telemedicine interaction.
What conditions are suitable for a Telemedicine consult?
At this point in time, we kindly ask that you advise our support staff of your situation and we will assess your viability.
IMC’s Telemedicine service will only be made available to patients who have been evaluated by one of IMC's medical staff. Patients can request an appointment either via phone or email in which case an assessment will be made before an appointment can be confirmed. Patients may be re-evaluated on a case-by-case basis to assess their continued suitability for Telemedicine consultations, at the discretion of the consulting IMC doctor.
How does it work?
Firstly you may request a Telemedicine appointment with one of our doctors in Camden, Children's, Jelita or Katong by completing our online appointment request or by phoning our clinic. After your appointment has been confirmed, a member of staff will send through detailed instructions to get you all setup and ready for your Teleconsultation.
IMC's Telemedicine service is powered by Plato Connect, you can connect anytime and almost anywhere, provided you have sufficient internet connectivity, adequate lighting and no loud noise disruptions going on behind you.
