Children Developmental Assessments

23 November, 2020 by International Medical Clinic

Our Developmental assessments are designed to monitor how your child grows and changes over time. It examines whether your child meets the typical milestones across the domains of gross motor, fine motor, vision & hearing and social development. Early detection is vital as it improves your child’s outcome.

Each visit also provides an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have as well as providing evidence based advice on weaning, feeding, and caring for your baby.

Most visits will coincide with vaccinations. At IMC, we are flexible and will tailor your child’s vaccination schedule to ensure adequate coverage for Singapore, your home country’s recommendations and travel circumstances.

We offer consultations for your child at the following ages over the first 2 years:

  • 1 week after birth
  • 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months

The coloured months denote when your child will typically receive vaccines.

Each consult will cover the following:

  • Discussion of on going medical issues
  • Identification and discussion of new issues
  • Your child’s routine including feeding, diet, toileting and sleeping
  • Developmental Screening
  • Growth Screening including height, weight, head circumference and BMI
  • Physical Examination
  • Vaccine review and update
  • Referrals if necessary and follow-up if required

Annual Child wellness Checks from 2 years onwards

Childhood is a time of rapid growth and development and our annual checks are designed to monitor your child, and ensure they are achieving the typical milestones as expected for their age.

Early detection and subsequent management is vital to improve your child’s outcome if delay is suspected.

Your child will continue to require certain vaccinations after the age of 2 and our wellness checks will ensure your child is fully up to date with their immunisations. Your child’s vaccination schedule will be tailored to ensure adequate coverage for Singapore, your home country’s advices and your travel plans.

Each consult will cover the following:

  • Comprehensive Medical History and Discussion
  • Discussion of your child’s routine including diet, toileting and sleeping
  • Discussion of your child’s behaviour
  • Developmental Screening
  • Growth Screening including height, weight, head circumference and BMI.
  • Vision test; long, short and colour
  • Physical Examination
  • Vaccine review and update

We are here with you on this journey to support the health and growth of your child at any age.
