We welcome Dr Monika Tasani to our Paediatric clinic. We thought we would take the opportunity to get to know her a little better:
Q: Dr Monika, welcome to IMC. Where were you practicing previously?
I completed my paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia but I have worked in different states including Northern Territory and Queensland. Prior to moving to Singapore, I undertook a Fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London.
Q: You’ve trained in UK and Australia. Which country is your favorite and why?
I love the land down under for sure!!! Australia is really beautiful with amazing nature; the outback, sea, mountains and the most unique animals surround you! Aussies are easy going, friendly and a very relaxed bunch of people. I do miss the UK though, especially the ease of travelling to the nearby countries.
Q: What was the last movie you watched? What did you think?
The last movie I saw when I was on the plane was ‘Finding Dory’. I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully made and very touching.
Q. What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? Why?
Swiss-army knife – you can use it for everything, a sleeping bag and matches to keep warm and to cook.
Q: You have specialized in Paediatrics. Why?
I really enjoy working with children and their families. Children are so resilient and I am always amazed at their recovery after being unwell. Adults have so much to learn from them!
Q: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee?
Q: What three words sum up your style as a Doctor?
Approachable, caring and kind.
