Dr Dex continued his interest in children’s medicine in KK Children’s Hospital where he worked for seven years in various departments, including Emergency, Allergy, Dermatology, Gastroenterology and Respiratory Medicine. For the past six years, Dr Dex has had various GP postings and has been a regular volunteer with the Singapore Grand Prix Medical Team since 2017.
Dr Dex has previously taught in Paediatric undergraduate training and mentoring at Duke NUS Medical School and is currently a Part-time Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, training medical students on how to communicate effectively with patients. Dr Charu Narayanan

Dr. Charu is a family practitioner who has trained and worked in the UK prior to moving to Singapore. She graduated from Pondicherry University, India in 1995 and was pursuing a paediatric career for over 3 years before moving to the UK in 1998. She continued training in Paediatrics and Neonatology in the UK in various hospitals and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, (MRCPCH, London) in 2001.
In 2001, she chose to change career paths and started her General Practice training in the UK. She then practiced as a GP in Cardiff, Wales from 2005 – 2011. She moved to Singapore in 2011 and has practiced for many years at a clinic serving mainly the expatriate population in Singapore.
During her career, she obtained a Diploma in Family planning (UK), a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK). Stress is a huge factor in many expat families’ lives and Charu enjoys using her experience to approach disease in a holistic fashion and places emphasis on prevention. Having been located near a few international schools, she has gained valuable experience in dealing with children of all ages and their families recognizing the close link between physical and mental health.
Dr. Charu completed board certification with the Australasian College of Lifestyle Medicine.
She finds teaching medical students a good way to learn and has been working as a sessional Clinical Facilitator at the Lee Kong Chian Medical School, Singapore since 2015.
