How long is a consultation?
Our consultations begin with a 15 minute allocation. However, depending on the nature and content of the visit, you may be allocated a greater amount of time.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Ideally you should make an appointment to see your preferred doctor. We operate the clinic with an appointment system to allow us to reduce patient waiting time and provide the necessary care. In some cases our reception staff will ask you to come in before your appointment time, to allow for your registration and any possible tests that need to be made before you see the doctor.
How do I register with your clinic?
You can collect a registration form in person from any of the clinics, download one from our Registration section, or we can email, fax or post you a copy. Alternatively you can arrive 10 minutes before your doctor's appointment and complete the form in the clinic. Baseline measurements of your height, weight and blood pressure will also be done before you see the doctor. It is not essential to pre-register your family members.
Can I have one invoice for everyone seen today?
We provide each patient with a separate invoice. The invoice can be either a summary or detailed invoice depending on your preference.
Payment can be made for a number of invoices/patients with one transaction.
Do you carry out Annual Medical checks?
We offer both a Managing Men's and Well Women's Wellness Programs. The final cost is dependent on the precise needs of the patient, the patient's medical history, and the doctor's recommendations. We tailor wellness programs to best meet the need of the individual patient.
Visit our Women's Health or Men's Health section for more details of our wellness programs.
Can you perform school medicals?
Our doctors can perform medicals for all the international schools in Singapore. When making an appointment for a school medical, you will be asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to the appointment time, as the nursing staff are to perform various checks before the doctor can begin. It is important to bring along your child's vaccination record book and the relevant school medical form.
Do you perform regular domestic helper medicals?
Our doctors perform regular domestic helper medicals. Please contact the clinic to make an appointment. The cost of the medical is determined by the tests requested on the medical form sent from the Ministry of Manpower. When presenting for a medical your domestic helper must bring her green work permit and the medical form sent from the Ministry of Manpower.
Can I have my domestic helper's visit invoiced under my name?
Legally a patient's invoice must reflect their own details as it forms part of a patient's medical records.
Can you bill me and let me pay later?
Invoices must be paid on the date of consultation or medication collection. We accept all forms of payment.
Can we bill directly to an insurance company?
We do have direct billing relationships with several insurance companies. You can contact our insurance department to inquire if your insurance carrier is one of them by completing our online enquiry form in our Insurance section.
How does Insurance work?
If we do not have an agreement with your insurance company, all bills are to be settled before the patient leaves the clinic and reimbursement will need to be claimed from your insurance company. Insurance forms can be completed by the doctor during the patients visit. Patients can then use the detailed invoice and insurance form to claim against their policy.
We hold blank insurance forms for the more common insurance companies. If you require any forms to be completed by the doctor, please identify this to the receptionist on your arrival at our clinic.
If we have an agreement with your insurance company, the invoice is sent off to them with your member card details. Upon receiving payment, the difference that is not covered by your insurance company would be charged against your credit card.
What do your doctors specialize in?
Our doctors are committed to whole patient care for all family members. Between them they have a wide range of post-graduate qualifications. We also have a specialist pediatric clinic.
Visit our Doctors section to find out more information regarding our doctors qualifications, training and interests.
Can you recommend a specialist?
We advise patients to come in and consult one of our doctors who will make a referral to the most appropriate specialist if required. Our medical receptionist can only provide telephone numbers for Dentists and Optometrists.
Do I need to see a doctor before I get a vaccine?
You will need to see a doctor for a consultation prior to getting a vaccination. Once you have discussed the vaccinations with the doctor, any subsequent doses of that vaccine course can be given by a nurse during a follow-up visit, as advised by your doctor. If you have commenced a course of vaccines in another country and require a continuation, you will still be required to see a doctor.
What vaccines do I need to visit a particular country?
To obtain appropriate travel health advice, it is best to consult one of our doctors.
It is difficult for a nurse or doctor to answer this question over the telephone. Each country has its own specific requirements depending on such factors as where the patient is staying, the activities they undertake during their travels, and of course the patient's own medical history. A travel consultation will clarify the patient's needs and check which vaccinations are up to date.
When do I need to come in for another vaccination?
We have a vaccination register set-up which allows our nursing staff to contact patients when they are due for any booster vaccinations. If a patient calls to enquire about their vaccination schedule, a nurse will be able to check the patient's record as to what vaccinations are outstanding. Note that different nationalities have different vaccination schedules for children. When attending the clinic for a travel consultation or vaccination update, it is important that patients bring their travel vaccination record booklet or their child's vaccination record.
Can you perform pathology testing on site?
Our nursing staff is trained to collect various pathology samples. We are unable to perform imaging studies onsite but can organize this at the time of visit and include this within your invoice.
Visit our In-House Service section for more information.
Can your clinic provide gynaecology services?
Our doctors can provide routine pap smears and gynaecology check ups.
Visit our Women's Health section for more information.
When will I hear about my test results?
Once test results are received, the doctor will view the findings, and either call you directly or give instructions to one of the nursing staff to call you. Your doctor will inform you during your consult of the approximate number of days before the results should be available.
Can I have someone else pick up my medication?
Yes, if this is arranged beforehand via telephone or email. Alternatively we will contact you to make sure you have given your consent before dispensing the medication.
Where should I go after hours?
We refer patients to the Accident and Emergency Unit at either Mount Elizabeth Hospital or Gleneagles Hospital.
If you do attend a hospital out-of-hours, we would appreciate if you could advise us either by leaving a message on our answering machine, or calling the clinic on the next business day. We would then advise your doctor who may require some follow-up with you directly.
Visit our Hospitals and Emergencies sections for more information.
Do you do house calls?
We do not do house calls; however please call the clinic for guidance.
